Meal time!
Adult dogs typically receive 1 to 2 cups of food twice a day depending on their size and age. Check your dog’s food bag for portion suggestions.
Puppies can be free fed (food left out) or given 3 meals a day since they’re still growing and are not in much danger of becoming overweight.
Make sure that your foster dog always has access to clean drinking water, unless you’re limiting their water for house training purposes (please see the House Training section for details).
Note: If you have other pets in the house, monitor feedings in close proximity in the event either animal displays resource guarding. It could be you need to separate them for meal time.
